Miami Zoo Part II for my Birthday!

Since "I'm a slave" (Britney Spears) to animals, on December 21, 2008 Uday and my Mom decided to take me back to the Miami Zoo to see a new section that is open that was not open last time we visited. This new section featured the Amazon.

We were really looking forward to seeing the jaguar but it was sleeping really far in the back and difficult to see. I only got one picture that did not come out that good because of the obstacles in the way and the distance.

We did get some really cool pictures of lizards and snakes. We decided to concentrate on the other sections that we missed last time due to time constraints and then to see the animals that we saw last time.

We also could not resist more pictures of the Chimpanzees since they are so entertaining. It does not show in the pictures but there was on
e baby chimp that kept doing somersaults! They seemed just as interested in us as we were in them.

We are really thinking that our new dog Simba is not a
mutt but rather a Dingo. Dingos are mainly found in Australia and are native wild dogs that have never been domesticated until recently. We got a picture of a dog at the Zoo that is a close cousin to the Dingo called the New Guinea singing dog. The picture on the left below is that of an Australian wild Dingo while the one on the right is of the New Guinea singing dog taken at the Miami zoo.

The picture below is of our dog Simba. Let me know if you think Simba is a dingo.

The only thing that may keep him from being a pure Dingo is that he has his due claw while Dingos do not. Don't know how or why Simba would be running around the Palm Beaches of Florida if he is a Dingo? If Simba is not a Dingo then I am not sure how he came out looking just like one, with most of the same characteristics! Does this explain why our Simba is so rough around the edges, walkes all over us when he wakes up in the morning, uses his mouth a lot, and grabs food as if he has never eaten before!! Uday is amazed that we have been able to train him to do a few tricks such as sit, stay, and "give me your paw"...

It was a pretty good time at the zoo but I am not sure if it can top our first experience there! Check out our pictures and let me know what you think!
